Another round of congratulations is in order for our Auckland Academic Health Alliance colleague, Professor Ed Mitchell, who's also been recognised as an Officer for the New Zealand Order of Merit for his contributions to children's health! Professor Mitchell is currently employed at the University of Auckland, but he has worked for many years at Starship. His research, which includes identification of the causes of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) - one of the most important discoveries made in health research in New Zealand, has led to the development of safe sleeping practices and has been estimated to have saved thousands of children’s lives in the past two decades. Well done Ed, and thank you for what you have done for children in New Zealand and across the world! #ADHBpeople
